	2010 Bi-Monthly Educational Meetings Welcome to our 9th season of free educational offerings geared for the doula, lactation consultant, nurse, childbirth educator, postpartum doula or midwife. Of course, we welcome all friends, parents, birth advocates and clients to our meetings as well. Our mission is to inform, inspire and interact with Louisville’s birthing community! We look forward to seeing you! Upcoming Meetings Thursday, July 15th Induction 101 Meredith Strauss Kosko, RN, BSN, CLC Meredith is a labor and delivery nurse at Clark Memorial Hospital. She has a special interest in breastfeeding and also serves as a Certified Lactation Counselor. She is also mom to Jake, born in September 2009. Thursday, September 16th Helping Parents Cope With Unexpected Outcomes Diana Merzweiler, Executive Director, Down Syndrome of Louisville Mark Leach, Board Member, Down Syndrome of Louisville and dad to Juliet, 5 This educational meeting is for birth professionals. Diana and Mark will discuss ways to support our clients through unexpected outcomes, community resources that are available to them and what to expect in terms of our clients' emotions. Down Syndrome of Louisville, Inc. (DSL) is a non-profit organization founded in 1977 by Mary Carter, an early childhood educator who established the first Early Intervention Education program for children with Down syndrome in Kentucky. Our grassroots organization grew with parent support to incorporate in 1991 to offer services for individuals with Down syndrome of all ages. Thursday, November 18th Annual Baby Shower for Charity Center for Women and Families Given the busy lives of our speakers, the topic and speaker is always subject to change. Other meetings New Moms' Group Share your parenting experience! This group provides a forum to draw on the wisdom and strength of other new mothers while giving our babies a chance to interact and play. The Mothers' Group meets the 4th Monday of each month at Babyology on Dutchmans Lane from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Contact Ashley Benz for more information!
